The federal announcement
USDOT said FMCSA identified approximately 75 entry-level driver-training schools suspected of improper certifications, falsified records or failure to provide adequate training. Homeland Security Investigations is assisting. An investigation is not a final finding against a particular school.
Why students should care
A deficient provider can leave a student with missing or disputed ELDT records and delayed skills-test eligibility. The enforcement effort concerns school and record integrity, not a student’s nationality.
Verify before paying
Confirm the provider’s legal name and location in the FMCSA Training Provider Registry, obtain a written agreement, keep receipts and attendance records, and verify that completion was submitted after training.
